This was such an entertaining read, Justin! Laughed out loud more than once, and learned some new things, too!

Great read and put some books I wasn't thinking about on my radar. Keef's is my favorite as well - I've read it three times. I love calling Felder the Gump of music. I need to read that. It IS amazing how often his name comes up in other bands books I've read. The Paul book on SRV is great. SRV needs more attention. Here are a few others to consider that I really loved:

Willin' (Little Feat)

Sing Me Back Home (Merle Haggard) - read this as a teen and remember loving it

Petty (I think Felder was in here)

Steely Dan - I didn't even know of the other book you put up on Fagan...adding that to my list!

There’s a Little Feat book?!?! I’ll be hunting that down today! I am LOVING the SRV book by Paul. So many great details. I read a SRV bio years ago and it didn’t touch this one

Thank you so much for reading, Grant!

It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but The Heroin Diaries (and the album) is actually a really solid work that still holds up. Side note: your life is in a really interesting place if that album is on repeat almost 24/7 and you really identify with the songs lol. There’s also an Aerosmith biography, and I forget the title, but it’s one they wrote and let their wives/girlfriends contribute to. I remember it because one of them said they heard “Dream On,” (their signature song) so many times that it became the song they would take a break/go to the bar and get a drink to and well, I laughed because there’s a certain song *I* have done that to. And don’t laugh, but The Dirt is also a really good read. If I had my books in front of me I could probably think of more, but here we are.

I thought of a couple more. There’s a biography of Janis Joplin, just called Janis, by Holly George-Warren. There’s another one by her sister called Love, Janis. I’ve always loved Janis and thought I had a lot in common with her. Except you know, minus the heroin. And there’s another one I’m VERY excited about. Cass Elliot’s daughter is releasing a book about her mom later this year. I’ve always loved Cass too, for the same reasons as Janis, and her daughter isn’t in the public eye much but seems like a really cool person who would be fun to hang out with. The book is called My Mama, Cass

I read a Janis biography when I was in high school but don’t remember it well. Definitely excited about the Mama Cass book.
